James Perkins wins NTAC season opener at San Pablo!
The 12th annual season opener for the NorCal Trout Angler's Challenge is now in the books - and was a ton of fun for trout anglers that traveled from all over northern California to enjoy a a beautiful day of fishing at San Pablo Dam.
Over 110 adult participants as well as 28 youth ranging from 6-16 years old were prepared for action, but fishing for some was slow, as water clarity was marginal, and the bite was somewhat slow.
But NTAC events are designed to "challenge" the skills of trout anglers, and never losing site of the mission, James Perkins - during the last 40 minutes before weigh-in, hooked into a beautiful rainbow trout that tipped the scales at 2.30 pounds, to win his first-ever NTAC Championship title!
