IT's CLASSIC WEEK!
The Sacramento River and all of its delta tributaries will be "fair-game" for every one of the only 26 teams that have qualified for this inaugural championship event, as a guaranteed cash prize of $10,000 is set, and ready to be awarded to the 1st place team. And this year's championship event - a two-day affair, is exceptionally challenging as no team will enjoy "home-field" advantage due to the fact that the Sacramento river is well off the beaten path of most all western tournament venues and schedules. Even though most teams are familiar with the California Delta proper, this event is truly an odds-maker's nightmare due to the fact that a long run from the Sacramento river to the outer reaches of the delta, could be risky even for the most "delta familiar" team - if the adjustments for fuel and time management are not calibrated properly. But for those teams that plan to stay close, and fish the main areas of the Sacramento River, we had the opportunity go out on the river with Alan Fong, of Alan Fong Outdoors, who has extensive experience and knowledge of the Sacramento River, and he provided the following tips in the video below:
