One of the things both nature and competitive sports share in common is that the old - at some point, will always be replaced by the new. And that inevitable fact is not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just the way it is.

And you need only look at this weekend’s exciting Coors Light Future Pro Tour Classic championship event to see a good example of that dynamic, as it appeared that a changing of the “old guard” took place, as veteran teams were made to yield their positions of perennial dominance to the sizeable contingency of both young and brash anglers that qualified for the Classic, and successfully thrive within all aspects of today’s competitive angling scene.

Young lions Joe Cunningham and Tanner Austin came into this Classic Championship event with a confidence that some might feel not congruent with their respective experience levels.
